The Spy Chapter 2 – Part VI

Alex ran against the time. He needed to be discrete or they would notice him. She had to be quick, or could be taken. He had to be efficient, or would lose everything.

He was in a hotel room. General Hubert’s room. An official with high patent, but small intelligence, according with the information he had received. The kind of person who was an important and easy prey.

Alex was not there to kill him. This would call people’s attention – an unnecessary attention in that moment. Coneva probably knew about having spies in their territory, but a killer would give them the desire for retaliation. No… at that moment, they did not need that kind of action. The time determined that all of them behaved in a discreet way. Something Alex probably knew how to do at that moment.

Alex’s mission was not really elaborate. Militaries in Barganha had discovered that Hubert would have access to important information about attack and defense strategies from Coneva. Information that could be crucial during the war that was happening. And that Alex could help to find, if he could stole the general’s access card to the headquarter. That was what the spy was there in that room at that moment. General Hubert was in the shower with a prostitute. Alex could not help smiling when thinking about how stupid was him. He was married, with two kids and was having dates with prostitutes. All that information Alex had discovery a few time ago, when he was looking for a way to take the card he needed. At first, he thought he would have to go to the office’s house, but this idea was not satisfactory to him. He hated to have to enter in a family’s house, just because he had never had one. He soon discovery, however, he that he would find a better solution: the general used to contract prostitutes and to go with them to a low level hotel at least once a week. The same ugly hotel, without any kind of security, where Alex was in that moment. Taking the card was, now, just a kid’s play.

That day, Alex had waited by the general in a place where he could see the hotel entrance. He pretended to be a poetry selling his poems to people – so no one cared about his presence there. When he saw the general, he entered the Hotel. He would do it by secondary doors, so no one would see him, and go to the general’s room – in the fifth stock, as usual – and his room – the 52, that he used to say it was his luck number. Not that day: that day, Alex would have all the luck.

The spy waited for the right moment. The moment to enter the room, take the card and leave that place as he had done nothing. Looking through the door, that was unlocked, he had observed everything the general and his partner were doing, and saw when they entered in the shower. That was the perfect hour to enter in that room and look for the card. Doing it, he leaved the room without a trace.

In the street, Alex looked the card in his hand. It was a very important thing to that war. And, now, it was with him. Alex smiled again and ran to his inn – he wanted to talk with his superiors as soon as possible to send them that card e receive his next mission...
