The Spy Chapter 2 – Part VII Simone took a deep breath. She felt a little bit sad about the news she was seeing. People were dying. The war. She hated that in the same way she hated what that meant. The war was coming near, and she knew it. The soldiers from the capitol were being called. She knew one of them – a soldier that used to take his breakfast in the same bakery she used to buy bread. When she told about it to Cesar, he just said: “You do not know him; he is just someone you talked with once or twice.” “But he was called!” she insisted. “And why are you so worried about it?” “I’m worried about the war.” “It’ll never affect us.” “How do you know?” “We are here, in the capitol. We are our country elite.” “Do not be that egoist.” “I’m sorry. I don’t want to be egoist. But... it is true! And you know it.” “People are dying. That guy can be dead now.” “You don’t know...” “Neither do you.” That last comment finished that discussion, with Cesar changing the subject. But Simone was still worried. She felt that all that fight, all that situation would not have a good end. And even considering she had not to be worried about all that war, even considering that that war was not their war, and they would never be there, she was really afraid that that was not exactly the truth...
