| The Spy Chapter 2 – Part VIII Alex was coming back to the inn after a busy day. His new mission was observe an important politician, one of those who made decisions about war. A task that sounded easier than others he had received – a politician would never be as clever as a military when we talk about being discrete and noting they are being observed by the enemy. Anyway, it was a complicated mission, and he was tired. Tired, his mind was flying when he arrived at home. The enough to do not notice that a military car was in front of his inn. The enough to make him unable to change his way to home when he noticed it – Pericles, who was also arriving at home in that same moment, came to complimented him. “Alex, my friend... how was your day?” “Much work.” “So was mine. What do you think the militaries are doing here?” “I don’t know.” Alex thought about pretending he had forget to buy something and had to go to a story and, so, avoiding entering in that inn in that moment. But he was unable to think so quickly: he was being taking inside the inn by Pericles, while Sidney, who was inside the building, came to them to say: “You arrived in a good moment.” “What is happening?” Pericles asked. “They are here to tell that a Mrs. Mercinda’s cousin was killed in the war.” Alex took a relaxed breath – th militaries were not there to find him. He said: “That’s terrible, she must be very upset...” “She is trying to find Agatha to give her this new. She is not fine.” “Let’s go there, to talk with her...” Alex, following Pericles and Sidney, went where the owner of the inn was. She needed support and help, and he would offer it to her. He would pretend, in that moment, that he cared about her. In that moment, that was his obligation: giving support to the enemy. And he would do it while he had to do so. (27082012) | ||||||
