Chapter 6 – Part V The place indicated by the attendant was closed. That was good, in Alex’ opinion, because that man sounded wary about them. They would drive many kilometers until find an open inn. “This place is good enough for you?” Simone asked. “You say, you want to stop to sleep. I could sleep anywhere.” Simone ignored the comment and parked the car. Alex told her: “Now just I will say something. And if you do some suspicious thing, I’ll kill you.” “Ok…” she answered. They entered that place. A young woman was there. “May I help you?” “We need a room, please.” “You have to do the payment in advance.” Alex gave her the money and she took a key: “Follow me.” The woman took them to a simple but comfortable room, with a double bed. She showed them the room and gave them the key: “If you need any help, just call me.” As soon as she leaved the room, Alex said: “You can use the phone to call someone to tell you are travelling. But if you say any suspicious thing, I…” “I’m not going to call anyone, I don’t have anyone to call.” Simone said harshly. “No one will miss you?” “The only person who would miss me is dead.” She sighed: “May I take a shower?” Alex looked her: “Give me your stuff.” She gave him everything. And he said: “Take a shower, but quickly.” Simone entered in the bathroom and closed the door. It was the first time in hours she saw herself alone.
