No one could say that had not noticed that the war would start any moment. Even though they could say many things about that war, something no one could say: it signed it would happen. And the signs were clear. Many years after it, Simone would think about it: how that war had told everybody that it would happen. And in how she just ignored that warning. She ignored it many times and in many ways. Alex would also think about it. And in how he was prepared to do what was necessary in those days. And in how that preparation was futile when everything started. Knowing that the war would start did not saved any life, did not prepared people to it, did not change anyone’s life.
